What is BICSI?
BICSI, a not-for-profit
telecommunications association, is a worldwide resource for technical
publications, training, conferences, and registration programs
for low-voltage cabling distribution design and installation.
By year's end, BICSI will have over 20,000 members residing in
85 nations.
Who is
ATTS?
Apex Telecommunications
Training Solutions is comprised of two training facilities. The
structured cabling training facility is located in Tempe, AZ and
provides a state-of-the-art, "real world" training environment
for telecommunications industry professionals. At ATTS training
facilities, students work on "live" equipment and are
continuously tested by industry experienced instructor's.

What
is the purpose of the BICSI Program?
The
goal of BICSI's Telecommunications Cabling Installation Training
and Registration Program is to produce highly competent cabling
installers in a minimal amount of time and at a reasonable cost.
Upon completion of training, program participants should be able
to conduct site surveys, pull wire/cable, and terminate and test
copper and optical fiber cable to the highest level of specification.
BICSI's program provides three levels of increased knowledge and
experience: Installer I, Installer II, and Technician. The program
offers core skills training, registration examinations, and structured
on-the-job training (OJT) to meet the diverse needs of the telecommunications
cabling industry. The multiple levels of competency provide, for
the first time, a career path for cabling installers. BICSI's
cabling installation training provides the opportunity for continued
professional and career development.
How
can my company benefit from "customized" training?
The modern Telecommunications and Data Communications marketplace
grows more complex and competitive every day. Today's growing
companies have realized that training is the key to growing stronger
and remaining competitive - but what training? how much? and from
whom? The Challenge Training should be clear, effective, timely
and affordable. Ideally, your team should have the training they
need when they need it - but perhaps you don't have the means
or the time to generate it in-house. The Solution ATTS will help
your company meet it's training demands. Whether it's the application
of a current ATTS offering or development of a brand new course
for your company, ATTS can help.
Who
should attend the Introduction to Voice and Data Cabling class?
The 3-day class is designed to offer students who are new to the
communications industry the fundamental knowledge they need to
become conversant with all types of communications networks. This
course also provides students with the historical perspective
necessary to understand how - and why - the technologies evolved
to their current widespread deployment. Hands-on lab exercises
include, installation of structured cabling, connectors, termination
of patch panels and jacks, connecting a PC and a telephone through
the (students installed) structured cabling system, and verifying
their correct operations.
How
many of my employees can attend your courses?
Dependent
on seat availability and student to instructor class ratios, anywhere
from 6-8 employees can attend at one convening. In fact, when
4 employees from your organization enroll in a class, a 5th may
attend that class for free.
